Process & Pricing

Our Process

  1. Give us a call or send an email detailing the tasks or project at hand. If we are not able to respond right away, we will usually respond back the same day, at most within 24 hours.
  2. We’ll take a little time to discuss the job and materials required. If you have already purchased your materials, for example a light fixture, ceiling fan, window treatments, etc., and you just need installation, we’re all set. We’ll likely have everything else we need to complete the project. Handyman-Lite carries a good supply of hardware, fittings and basis replacement parts. If your project or list is more involved, we will want to do our best to bring all the tools and materials required. Avoiding material runs will save you money. We also advise when possible for you to clear the area around the work space as this again will save us time and you money.
  3. We’ll set up an appointment for a window of time in either morning or afternoon. Due to the nature of our work it is extremely difficult to set a specific time unless it is the first appointment of the day.
  4. Upon satisfactory completion of our work, we will accept payment for the time worked and materials. We accept Cash or Check, also Pay Pal, Visa, and MasterCard payable at HandymanLite.com, click “Make a Payment”. You don’t need a PayPal account to make a Visa or MasterCard payment.

 

Our Service Fees

We do most of our work on a Time and Materials (T&M) basis. There are exceptions to every rule and if you would prefer a cost estimate for what may be deemed a larger job we can do this. Please contact Scott with any questions or concerns regarding pre-pricing estimates.

  • First Hour: $85.00 (1 hr minimum)
  • Hourly Rate: $65.00
  • Material runs: Billed at our normal T&M rate of $65.00
  • Dump Fees: $50.00. This is a flat fee for any debris than cannot be picked up curbside or that you wish to be removed from the premises. Parts and Materials: At cost. We do not mark-up materials and charge only for the time to run to the supplier. Receipts for materials are provided on request.

Handyman-Lite carries a complete stock of hardware fasteners, electric boxes, switches, outlets, plumbing parts, etc. to complete most any installation under the handyman umbrella. Our substantial inventory of basic hardware, electrical and plumbing parts are one way we create efficiencies in an effort to save you money.

We do not charge for material runs for basic hardware, electrical, or plumbing parts or when working on a contract agreed price. Billable material runs include items such as lumber, specialty products and specialty hardware.

Handyman-Lite is a reputable, legal, tax paying, licensed and insured company. You will find our fees very fair among legal and franchised Handyman operations. Be aware, hiring an unlicensed/uninsured handyman or home improvement contractor may open you to potential risks. Additionally as the homeowner, you can be held liable for on the job injuries to uninsured workers.

 

What is Plexi-Curtain?

Many older homes have a bathroom window on the wall directly inside of the shower or bath. This is a poor design that has created a maintenance nightmare for many homeowners. Constant exposure to moisture creates ideal conditions for mold and mildew and eventual rot. Ignored long enough, you’ll have all the same conditions behind the walls.

In a regularly used shower, regardless of the material, window curtains are minimally effective in protecting the window and walls. They too grow mold and mildew and need to be laundered regularly. Until now a window curtain of some fashion is thought to be the only solution short of vinyl replacement window.
